Service Skills Australia Excellence Awards 2014 Guest Speaker – Australian Apprenticeships Ambassador Sara Burke

Sara Burke is the winner of the Australian Apprentice of the Year at the 2012 Australian Training Awards and is an Australian Apprenticeships Ambassador for the Australian Government.

A qualified hairdresser after completing a Certificate III in Hairdressing, there was little doubt she would go on to great success. Now a senior hairdressing stylist, Sara has built up a loyal clientele, building her profile and contributing her skills for charitable purposes.

In 2013, Sara initiated the Off Cuts Challenge during National Skills Week to promoteote the importance of Australian Apprenticeships and raise funds to pay the tuition of an Apprentice.
