Rosa the Carpenter

Rosa Hollows is a qualified Carpenter and Joiner. We joined her on site as she restores a 106 year old heritage listed cottage. Calling on the skills of her trade, she is overcoming the challenges of such a facelift in a manner that is safe and will restore the building to its former glory.

She started her career in high school, enrolling in a TVET course that not only contributed to her final school grades but also accelerated her apprenticeship. After three years as an apprentice, she now holds a Cert. III in Carpentry and Joinery and is a fully qualified tradeswoman.

Rosa shares her experience, and acts as an advocate and mentor through SALT Australia, an organisation that promotes and advances female participation in the non-traditional trades.
