2008 Apprentice of the Year Winner Rachel Keiley talks Plumbing
"After completing Year 12, I really wanted to gain a trade that would provide me with skills for life. I was after a trade that would be continuously challenging and would really expand my knowledge base. While a Certificate III Apprenticeship in Plumbing is not the first thing that comes to mind for most 17 year old girls, I felt this trade would not only deliver a challenging environment but would also contribute to developing workforce skills such as organisational management, customer service, and teamwork.
CIT has designated areas designed specifically for training plumbers in real work environments meaning the training in the “classroom” could be transferred directly to the field which was great. The methods of delivery were flexible as were the teachers. I am now in the process of completing my Certificate IV in Plumbing."
