Keep kids in school by getting them out of the classroom

If it wasn’t for Theodora Hatzidakis’s School Based Traineeship at Happy Faces After-School Care she would have left school in Year 10 and not completed her Higher School Certificate (HSC).

This year she will be finishing her HSC and coming out of her school life with a head start in her career. “I was ready to leave in Year 10 and my Careers Adviser told me about this really cool School Based Traineeship program, and now I am finishing school and coming out with a qualification,” says Theodora Hatzidakis, School Based Trainee at Happy Faces After School Care.

Once she completes the Certificate IV in Children’s Services (outside school hours care), Theodora is able to work in a range of vacation care programs and, before and after-school programs as a Vacation Care Supervisor. This qualification provides advanced standing in the Diploma of Children’s Services qualification.
