We chat chat to Tony Inkersole at the Intercept Group pre-license training session about security careers in Australia. We hear about the many career paths open to certified security staff - and the realities of working in the industry!

About the Intercept Group:

The Intercept Group is a Registered Training Organisation that specialises in Security, Risk Management, Private Investigations, and Bodyguarding. They also have Asset Maintenance, Hospitality, Aged Care and Nursing divisions.

The company is owned by John Forsyth, who is currently the Referee assisting Bill Harrigan on the new version of TV's Gladiators.

He founded the company, originally called Intercept Security Training, in 1996, before changing the name to Intercept Group in 2004. With regard to work cover, Security is considered the second highest at risk job in Australia.

About Tony:

Tony has been with Intercept Group since July 2004 and is their Operations Manager. Tony commenced his employment originally as an Instructor / Assessor and has now moved up through the ranks of the company.

He is in charge of all Instructors or Assessors, rostering, updating Courseware manuals, RPL applications, Workplace Assessments whilst still keeping his hand in Training and Assessing himself.

He has over 12 years experience in providing security services to his employers, Tony also has an extensive background in the Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) and has been a supervisor and manager of two major cleaning companies.
