Andrew Pengilly – Tyrrell’s Winery Vineyard Manager

Andrew takes us to some of the oldest vineyards in the Hunter Valley, originally planted back in 1879, and cloned from vines originally brought over from France.

Andrew discusses what to look for in harvesting grapes to get the best possible tasting wine- including looking at PH and acidity levels, and the length of time needed for the vines to properly mature. Andrew also talks about his background, training, and how he came to his current position with Tyrrell’s.
