WorldSkills Australia National Competition launch 2012
Over three days of exciting competition, 500 of Australia’s best students, trainees and apprentices will compete for gold in 50 skill categories.
The skill areas on show range from traditional trades such as plumbing, bricklaying and hairdressing to the more contemporary professions of web design and fashion technology. Medallists from the National Competition, if eligible, may then be given the opportunity to represent their county as a Team AustraliaSkillaroo on a world stage at the 42nd WorldSkills International Competition being held in Leipzig, Germany 2013.
This event offers much more than a skills contest. Attendees are also given the opportunity to test themselves in over 25 skill areas by participating in the interactive WorldSkills Australia Try’aSkill program and furthermore, to seek careers advice and discuss study options at the integrated National Careers and Employment Expo.
Visitors will be given the chance to learn about the many career options available to them in an exciting new way. Unlike any careers guide available, the event offers a visual and interactive catalogue, showcasing a wide range of professions through a live competition, interactive program and a careers expo.
