Building Skills for the Future at Barangaroo with CPSISC & Lend Lease
CPSISC, the National Industry Skills Council responsible for the building, construction and property services industries launched the Barangaroo South Skills Connect Partnership in conjunction with Federal Skills Minister Chris Evans and Lend Lease, on Tuesday 28th August.
CPSISC Chair Noel Hamey said that “our launch of the partnership within the backdrop of National Skills Week is remarkable for a number of reasons. Put simply, the launch unveils a clever and innovative approach to up-skilling high volumes of trades people during the life of a major project of national significance.
“The Barangaroo South Skills Connect Partnership takes the iconic $6 billion Sydney Harbour project which arguably is the largest construction project of its kind in Australia’s history, and leverages the myriad of workforce development opportunities that a project of such sheer scale offers.
The project will train up to 500 apprentices over its 10 year lifespan.
