UTS – A New Building for Business

The Dr Chau Chak Wing Building is the latest addition to the $1 billion redevelopment of the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) City campus and will provide teaching, learning, research and office space for UTS Business School. It is the first building in Australia designed by Frank Gehry, one of the world’s most influential architects.

The vision for the new building questions what should business education be like in the future? And how should a building be designed to facilitate that? The buildings innovative design aims to create a 'high-tough' environment which simultaneously breaks conventional architectural boundaries, and minimise the distance between learning facilitators and students. SkillsOne went to the buildings opening to learn more about the design process.
