Wenona School restore a Mini

Wenona is a school for girls and young women that aims to enhance and enrich the learning experience. Female participation in the engineering fields in desperately low. How appropriate that the school, through its inaugural Head of STEM Andy Draper, should tackle that challenge head on.

The school has been pursuing extra-curricular activities to immerse the girls in experiences of engineering and physics to highlight its virtues and expose them to a possible future pathway.

The students restored a 1967 Morris Minor Mini, stripping it back before returning it to its former glory. The Chief Scientist & Engineer of NSW, Professor Mary O'Kane, came to the school to recognise the young ladies' achievements.
