Sam Sheppard & Naomi Cassimatis advocate The Women in Building Project

Sam Sheppard and Naomi Cassimatis are both women working within the building and construction industry- Sam as a builder and Naomi as a carpenter.

In this video they discuss their passion for the industry, the challenges faced by women working in trades, as well as the need to dismantle preconceived notions that women can't work within trades.

In 2009, Sam developed the initiative Build more Women into Building which aims to create job opportunities and support and encourage women in the building and construction industry.

The objective of the initiative is to elevate awareness and acceptance of women who choose to develop a career in the building and construction industries
