Painting & Decorating @ WorldSkills
We meet Lyndsey Swindells, an apprentice painter who is competing at WorldSkills. She chats about what it's like being a female in the painting industry.
She shares how she got involved in becoming a painter, and we meet Lyndsey's family - we learn about her supportive family who have travelled up from Tasmania for WorldSkills 2008 in Sydney.
Lyndsey shows her competition pieces for WorldSkills.
Lyndsey is very short, and while practicing the design she has to do at WorldSkills she discovered that a normal compass was no good to her – her arms did not reach wide enough to complete the design! So her glazing teacher at TAFE made her a special compass so that she could reach the parameters. This compass is over one meter long!
She shares her future plans both personally and professionally.
