GTA Stories: Kathryn James
Kathryn reveals how Group Training Organisations offer more than just logistical organisation of apprentices and trainees. Through mentoring, counselling and other forms of personal engagement, apprentices and trainees can have life affirming results. GTNT helped a grieving apprentice overcome her personal challenges with loss to see a future.
Group Training NT commenced as a not-for-profit company in 1989. It aimed to improve the quality of training and participants in the Northern Territory. It focused on small to medium sized businesses that had limited capacity to train apprentices in their own right for the improvement of both business and apprentice.
Group Training Australia Limited (GTA) is the national association representing a network of around 150 Group Training Organisations (GTOs) located throughout Australia. Collectively the national network employs 35000 apprentices and trainees.
