Ultimate Apprenticeship Winners Take Off!

Congratulations to:

Kira Lee Norman

Kira Lee Norman won the Japan, Cookery Apprentice Prize. She's shown here with Grand Hyatt Tokyo Executive Chef, Shaun Keenan.

For Kira Lee it was her first trip overseas. Although she has nearly three years of training remaining, Kira-Lee said the “Ultimate Apprenticeship” in Tokyo had inspired her plans for the future.

“After seeing all this, I’d like to work in a hotel. Hopefully I want to one day own my own restaurant, but once I’m qualified I want to do a few years’ work somewhere,” she said.

As for Tokyo itself, Kira-Lee said her first trip overseas had been a jaw-dropping experience.

"It was all amazing."

Daniel Wheat

Daniel Wheat won the Singapore Horticulture Prize. He's seen here with Charile Evans, Leader Team Australia for the Singapore Garden & Flower Show.

On the 30th Jan Daniel met with Charlie Evans to pick out $100,000 worth of plants at Banara Nurseries in Perth.

Daniel will join team Australia in July as they fight to take first place at the internatioanl garden and flower show.

Matt Hibble

Matt Hibble won the Ultimate Apprenticeship to Brands hatch England to experience the A1GP from the Pit! He's seen here with Mark Winterbottom & Steven Richards.

He says, “SkillsOne gave me a what I wanted: to get up close and personal to what I love, fast cars. With the Ultimate Apprenticeship competition I won an opportunity to go to England and get involved with A1GP World Cup of motorsport. I started out as an automotive apprentice, now I’m heading to England to get work experience in motor racing!"
