Great Waiters Race
The annual Great Waiters Race in Sydney is based on the famous traditional race from Paris 'La Course des Filles and Garcons de Cafe'. It's a fun way for waiters to test their speed and dexterity, and at the same time raise money for charity. It's happening at the Overseas Passenger Terminal on Sydney Harbour on March 27, 2011.
This iconic event was first held in Paris in 1977 where bar and restaurant male and female waiters walked a marathon course dressed in traditional attire with a tray of drinks. The event caught on in major cities around the globe ie. London, Berlin, New York, Washington, Toronto, Rome and Rio, now with prizes and airline tickets to the french Grand Prix race in August next year to be won.
SkillsOne TV will be filming at the event, and it promises to be a fantastic day with prizes for the fastest and best attired waiters.
