Accelerated training program offered for qualified teachers
Teach NSW is offering Accelerated Teacher Training for skilled workers. It is a quick, yet comprehensive, 18 month teacher training program available for people who would like to fast track a career as a teacher of secondary mathematics or technology and applied sciences (specialising in either Food Technology or Agriculture).
This is ideal for those who have current industry knowledge, expertise and qualifications and who:
- are looking for a rewarding new career in teaching in NSW public schools
- like to study online
- want to achieve a bachelor degree in less than two years
- want a guaranteed permanent job
- want to start on a higher salary than most graduate teachers.
Admission to the program is based on the assessment of qualifications and experience.
For a mathematics position, applications must have a degree/part-degree in a related field and at least three years related industry experience in the last five years.
For tech- and applied sciences, applicants are required to have attained either a TAFE diploma or trade certificate at AQF level III; or an indentured trade; or a degree/part-degree, AND at least three years related industry experience within the last five years.
On completion of studies, Teach NSW will appoint the newly qualified teacher to a position in an agreed location.
