Be a TV Programmer
In large TV networks all around the world, you'd be hard pressed to get close to the resident TV Programmer. In Britain and various public broadcasting outfits, they are sometimes called Commissioners. In the US they are Senior Vice Vice Presidents of something or other.
These folks usually have litte to do with the masses who watch their network but spend lots of time in front of statistics with demographics about how 14 year olds like Big Brother or retirees like current affairs. Their reputations are built on ratings and their experience or "intuition" about making program choice (for us)...is highly regarded.
Well - at SkillsOne, we're not about that at all. We are accessible, creative, willing to take risks and happy to listen to what you have to say.
Our Consulting Producer and one of Australia's most experienced directors, Peter Faiman, says: "Traditional network television is dead. It's all about the web. It's all about choice. It's not about appointment television."
In fact, you don't have to make an appointment with us at all. You can fit us into your schedule. You can watch fresh content and repeats daily on Foxtel and Austar (Aurora Channel 183) or right here on the web 24 hours, 7 days a week.
And now - we've flung the door open to let you inside. This is your chance to Be a TV Programmer!
You get to tell us what programs should be in the line up each week. Do you want an hour on a particular industry? Maybe you want to see all the blokes in one go? Or maybe you have your list of favourites marked out on the TV Guide?

To be the TV Programmer for a Day - just send us your "Rundown" or "Playlist" - a list of 7 stories you want to see.
Consult the TV Guide for the current list, or Browse the videos online to create your selection.
Then, send it to us by Email us or via MySkillsOne (use the Submit Story Idea form)
The winning Rundowns will be programmed into an hour of television and we'll credit you on air for that hour of TV!
