Lenore’s vocational qualifications have given her the skills to help people from her own community to lead better lives.

Background:
Lenore is an Aboriginal woman whose mother came from a large clan from Pt Pearce Community on the Yorke Peninsula. Over the last 20 years she has been helping Aboriginal people and communities through employment and training strategies.

VET Qualification:
Lenore achieved an Advanced Diploma in Community Services Management from TAFE South Australia through the Aboriginal RPL mentoring process. She also holds a Certificate IV in Frontline Management, Certificate IV In Training & Assessment, Diploma in Marketing and is currently doing a Diploma in Management.

Where the qualification has taken her:
Lenore’s qualifications have helped her gain a new position as Site Coordinator with the Aboriginal Outreach Health Service in Gilles Plains. Prior to that, she worked in the Aboriginal Health Division of the Health Unit, South Australia Health Services.

Lenore uses these qualifications to her advantage in her new role, managing the day-to-day operations of the site, coordinating all visiting specialist medical and allied health teams, managing site staff, site-specific training and development.

Lenore is an enthusiastic advocate of vocational education and training and updates her skills every year.
