Mine Site Electrics
Geoff works on every piece of machinery at the Port Hedland port operation. Conveyer belts, train un-loaders and car dumpers are just some examples of the big machines that Geoff maintains.
SkillsOne visists Fortescue Mines in Western Australia to find out about the trades which are in use in the mine.
Geoff inspects equipment for wear and tear and possible problems that may arise in the future. He says the sheer size of the machinery is very exciting and challenging.
Originally from Melbourne, Geoff is moved to Port Hedland to get a head start with his family.
