Getting Skilled in Children's Services

Interested in a career in child care?

The Diploma of Children's Services is now available - which might just be perfect for you!

Skillsone visited the "Little Peter's Child Care Centre" in Casula, Sydney to talk to Karen McKneight (ACCCO), Ann-Maree Vukasin (Centre Director) and Vanessa Slattery to find out more about the Diploma.

Australian Child Care Career Options (ACCCO) is an industry-based registered training organisation that provides qualifications in Childcare's Services, Out of School Hours Care and Community Services Work.

In November 2007 the NSW State Government signed off on the Diploma in Children's services. The Diploma is undertaken as a two year traineeship. The traineeship is beneficial both for those already working in the industry who wish to upgrade their qualifcations and new employees looking to begin a career in Children's Services.
