A Caring Career
Skills shortages affect our lives in ways most people don't realise. Disability, aged care and childrens services are growing areas and this story reveals the rewarding nature of care-based careers.
The Spastic Centre in NSW is a registered training organisation and runs nationally accredited courses in this area.
We speak to some of the carers who have completed the course and gone on to work for the Spastic Centre, caring for people with cerebral palsy.
We also speak to Arran Hottes, the learning and development facilitator, about the benefits of a career in disability care.
The Spastic centre has also won an employer of choice for women award for their family friendly work environment.
