Instead of spending her days doing reading, writing and arithmetic, Nikayla attends Young High School which offers Retail as part of the VET in Schools program. The course covers topics such as theft, opening and closing, merchandising, and customer relations
At the age of 14, Nikayla got an after school job at Best & Less, where she continues to work today. Initially Nikayla took the job as she had some friends working there and the obvious appeal of some extra spending money, however several years later she continues to work on Saturdays as the job offers flexibility while she studies for her HSC.
