WorldSkills Australia Nationals - Brisbane 2010 - VETiS Commercial Cookery

Originally from Scotland, Jennifer has lived in Tasmaina for the past 5 years. She is doing a Certificate 2 at Drysdale TAFE while she completes year 12.

Jennifer has just completed Day 1 of the competition at the WorldSkills Nationals in Brisbane, and is feeling good about her performance. Today she cooked for 3 people, and was judged on quality, timing, presentation and technique. All 8 competitors had the brief to make a fruit plate, pancakes and corn fritters, and were encouraged to use their imagination to give their dish some additional flair.

Jennifer is particularly interested in experimenting with foods from different cultures and says that Tasmania is a great place to live as it offers a diverse array of multicultural cuisine. She is not yet sure what she wants to do with her skills, but is sure that she will be cooking for a while to come. Jennifer knows that you have to work hard to be the best!
