WorldSkills Australia Nationals - Brisbane 2010 -Beauty therapy

Ashley has been a beauty therapist for 5 years. Towards the end of year 12 she researched the field (by speaking to therapists and having treatments) and ended up getting a traineeship through her employer. She studies 1 day a week and works the other 4 days. Ashley became fully qualified in May last year.

Customer satisfaction at the end of each treatment is important to Ashley. She is happy at the end of each day if the customers have had a nice time. She say that she’s learning every day with each new treatment and product. It can be mentally and physically draining at times.

Knowing that Jessie-Lee won the gold medal at the international competitor last year, makes it even more exciting for Ashley – big shoes to fill!
