Fluid Power @ WorldSkills

SkillsOne heads to the WorldSkills 2008 National Competition, where we learn about Hydraulic Power used at WorldSkills.

We chat to David Thomas, Fitter and Turner, who is also the 2006 National Gold Medalist.

He shows us the demonstration of Hydraulics at the WorldSkills Try A Trade, with a replica backhoe. He chats about where hydraulics are used in practice in mining and manufacturing, and his experience with winning WorldSkills in the past.

We also chat to Hayden Keech, a fluid power lecturer at TAFE SA, who chats about other forms of hydraulics, such as pneumatic valves.
