Blake Adams is an air traffic controller in the control tower at Sydney Airport, where his role includes monitoring aircraft that arrive and depart.

The criteria for becoming an air traffic controller include gaining a pilot's licence, a degree and exceptional HSC results, and Blake completed a degree in aviation at Newcastle and trained in the Hunter.

Although air traffic control is commonly perceived as being a stressful occuption, Blake doesn't find it to be the case. The job has challenges like any other but he notes that there are procedures in place to deal with any problems that arise.
