Challenging the Conventions
Boat building apprenticeships do not just extend to men!
We meet Donna Milton, a female boatbuilder at McConaghy Boats, the name behind award-winning racing yachts around the world. She tell us how she went from being unemployed in the country, to building the Alfa Romeo, the yacht that won the Girgalia Rolex Cup this year.
Company Partner and Master Boatbuilder Steve Moxham also tells us about the enormous value of women in the male world of boat-building.
Donna describes McConaghy Boats as being a family that respects her skills, and continues to collaborate on winners such as the Leopard 3, Wild Oats X1, Rambler, Morning Glory and Artforms.
