Australian Turf Club - Mounted Security Division
The Australian Turf Club, introduced an Equine Mounted Security Division used to patrol race days and major events at Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm Racecourses. The ATC Mounted Division offer a number of training programs specialising in Mounted Security operations, whilst also hiring out their services externally.
The Mounted Security Division Patrol course offers those who are qualified in security, or wish to gain their qualifications, a unique opportunity to extend their training into the mounted division. It is the only course of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, with the initial training being introduced by the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville.
All horses in the Mounted Security Division are ex-thoroughbreds which have been rehabilitated and re-homed at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, through the NSW Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Trust.
