Brian Wexham's blog from Worldskills Nationals 2010- Brisbane

Over the last few days I have been privileged to participate and attend the 2010 Worldskills Australia National Competition running over 3 days in Brisbane. Already videos of these young Australians competing in this competition are available on the Skillsone website and there are many more to come, so keep a look out over the next few days.

The National Competition is the ultimate showcase that highlights the skill and the passion of those taking part. It is particularly encouraging to see over 50 trade and skill categories representing, which not only includes the traditional trades like brick laying and automotive but also the more contemporary skills areas such as IT/Software Design and fashion and Design. The last two days have provided a spectacle that has been enjoyed by over 40,000 visitors to the Worldskills exhibition halls and the careers expo.

Particular recognition should go to the numerous volunteers, judges, TAFE Teachers from all over Australia who are giving their time freely along with their skills and expertise to ensure Australia produces the essential quality and commitment that industry needs.

Enjoy watching these great ambassadors and for further information about Worldskills and additional videos go to www.worldskills.org.au.
