The Brick Road to WorldSkills
Every two years our best young tradespeople line up to take on participants from 48 member countries in an international competition called WorldSkills.
In November 2007, the Australian team, known as the 'Skillaroos', will travel to Shizuoka in Japan to compete.
Tim Hambly is the Aussie representative for bricklaying. For the event, Tim will have to complete four complex projects in just 22 hours and is marked on a range of factors including speed, accuracy and quality.
WorldSkills Chief Judge Troy Everett says Tim's best attritube is his attitude and is a good chance for gold: "He's hard-working, he listens to instruction and he is really keen. I can't believe he is only 20-years-old."
