WorldSkills Australia Nationals - Brisbane 2010 - Detailed Joinery & Shopfitting
Jason always appreciates a challenge and the WorldSkills National Competition is no exception. He works as a shop fitter on the Sunshine Cast QLD and often finds himself in exotic locations such as Darwin, Townsville of Coffs Harbour installing custom cabinetry.
Although Jason is competing in the Joinery and Shopfitting category, he actually attended TAFE for cabinetmaking, going to show that more often than not learning a skill in one area doesn't limit you from moving into a related field.
His interest in joinery and cabinetmaking emerged during furnishing class at school where he discovered he had an aptitude for detailing an problem solving. Another influence was Jason's grandfather who was a skilled wood turner, it must be in the genes.
