Warren's World: My mate Vickie

Who are often the people most critical of what we want to do when we grow up and start thinking about a career? Your Mum and Dad, and maybe for good reason.

Our parents want only the best for us and want us to be better educated and have access to better opportunities than they did when they were young.

Today, careers in trade-skilled industries now offer just as much earning potential, job satisfaction and opportunity as the traditional white-collar 'professions'.

Here Daily Telegraph cartoonist Warren Brown discusses some of these issues using his trademark cartoons and the story of his mate Vickie.
