Star Rating - TAFE NSW Sydney Western Institute (Blacktown Campus)

The staff in the automotive section at TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute, Blacktown College, are proud to be awarded a three gold star rating by the Institute for Trade Skills Excellence for the provision of high quality automotive training in Western Sydney.

The Institute aims to provide customer focused training, whether they are pre-apprentices, apprentices, post trade students or commercial clients.

Their highly qualified staff work with employers on training and assessment strategies for their apprentices and regularly visit the apprentices to carry out practical on-the-job assessments.

Their workplace training model with Heartland Holden was recognized with an ATA Award for Innovation in a Small Business. This model is being expanded to other employers as it provides for generic training by the automotive teachers both at TAFE and at the company premises.

TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute prides itself on being an integral part of the communities in Western Sydney, delivering and customising high quality education and training to meet the vocational needs of the people in the region.
