Creative Panel Beating @ WorldSkills
Panel Beating is a skilled and creative trade which sees art and cars merge into one.
Wanting a more hands-on experience, Nathan Muir found his creative niche in the panel-beating trade, rather than art school. We chat to Nathan Muir at WorldSkills as he trains for the National Competition.
Nathan is in the process of repairing a panel for a car. He shows us how he uses his hammer and dolly. The dolly is a tool used behind the panel so that when you hit it with a hammer you get the correct shape of the panel. He also demonstrates how to use a slapper – this is like a hammer but with a wider face on it.
