Udderly Delightful

Three generations of the Berry family live and work on the Banfield & Capevale property in Singleton, NSW.

Alex Berry - dairy goat farmer - tells us how the family previously concentrated on raising and milking dairy cattle, but due to drought water restrictions, they were forced into considering alternatives: the logical solution lay in farming goats for goat's milk as you can have more goats to an acre than cows (7 goats for every one cow), they are a lot cleaner, and utilise less water.

Alex believes more and more people are acquiring a taste for goat's milk and appreciating it's health benefits.
