The Multi-Tasking Artist

Zoe Sernack wanted to be a painter from a very early age. She’s always been content to be lost in her own world of art-making. She attended the national art school in East Sydney and graduated with a certificate in printmaking. She also did a Bachelor of Fine Arts there and a Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of NSW.

Zoe has been an exhibiting artist for over 12 years now. She regularly participates in both solo and group exhibitions at a number of established and independent galleries around Sydney. In 2005 she launched her own jewellery label, Zoemou. Inspired by art nouveau designs, the pieces are laser cut from metal, acrylic or leather. She also has another label – ZM - that uses sterling silver in unique, quirky designs that are inspired by street style and subcultures. Her designs are stocked in boutiques around Australia, NZ and Europe.

In 2007 Zoe worked with friend and emerging fashion designer, Daniel Avakian, to create some key pieces to accentuate his designs on the catwalk. They collaborated again for the recent Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney.
