Teaching English Overseas

International House (IH) Sydney is part of the International House World Organisation (IHWO), the oldest and largest independent network of language schools in the world. Established in 1953, today the IHWO has schools in 46 countries.

The Sydney contingent is a specialist TESOL/TEFL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher training centre, and annually trains and certifies over 700 teachers. People are not required to already have a teaching degree and come from many backgrounds.

IH Sydney trains people to teach English both overseas and in Australia. All trainers at International house Teacher Training Centre have many years of teaching and training experience and are extremely well qualified for the level of training they undertake.

Nick Beswickis a Senior Trainer at International House Sydney. Nick holds a BA(Hons) in English Literature and Language, Cambridge CELTA and Cambridge DELTA. Since 1993 he has worked as a teacher in the Czech Republic, Indonesia and England teaching a range of student levels from beginner to advanced, multilingual classes and one-to-one for General English, exam classes (Cambridge and IELTS), business English and special skills classes. He has been an accredited teacher trainer since 2002 and trained in England, Russia and Australia He is a popular teacher at our centre and is well respected by all his students and has been working at International House Teacher Training Centre since 2002.
