The Dog Tamer

Maxine Fernandez is a dog trainer, who runs Canine Kindergarten. She chats to SkillsOne about what's involved in her job.

Maxine's aim is to provide owners with information and knowledge about the behaviour of their dogs and help strengthen the bond and interaction they have with their pets using positive reward based training.

Canine Kindergarten was developed so dog owners could train their dogs using fun, effective, positive training techniques.

Maxine's qualifications:

Maxine's qualifications include: Canine Good Citizen (CGC™) instructor, accredited through the Delta Society of Australia, Certificate IV in dog behavioural training, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a Diploma in Surgical Nursing. She is also a Delta Dog Safe™ presenter and a member of the APDT (Association Of Pet Dog Trainers).
