Pest & Disease

Kate Worrad specialises in the field of entomology and agriculture, and uses these skills and expertise in her current job as a horticulturalist at Eden Gardens at Ryde, Sydney, where she has been working since it opened 3 years ago.

Eden Gardens has an extensive range of the best quality plants and products - everything you need to make your garden an oasis. They also have a wide range of contacts, links and alliances within the horticulture and leisure industries, meaning that they can source difficult to find plants, products and information for their valued customers.

Kate loves her job out in the fresh air and sunshine, which involves retail sales, horticultural advice, plant watering, spraying and maintenance, training programs and landscaping advice - which she demonstrates to us in this video.

Entomology is the scientific study of insects. At some 1.3 million described species, insects account for more than two-thirds of all known organisms. Some dating back some 400 million years, and have many kinds of interactions with humans and other forms of life on earth, so it is an important specialty within biology.

Agriculture is the science, art, and business of farming - cultivating soil, producing crops, and raising livestock.
