Positive Propagation

Amanda Rollason is a research horticulturalist - a role which includes managing the plant tissue culture collection and cloning plants, such as the endangered Wollemi Pine tree.

Moving from one trade to another - Amanda re-trained by studying a Certificate IV in Parks and Gardens, after spending 20 years as a hairdresser. It was the perfect choice after discovering she was more passionate about the environment.

After completing her Certificate IV she volunteered at the Mount Annan Botanical Gardens in Sydney, and then moved into full-time work in her current role.

Amanda chats to SkillsOne about how to clone plants, reproduce plants and entice them to grow.
