A Life in Print

Letter press printing is the original form of printing, invented at the end of the 15th century. Now, as technology has advanced in the past 40 years, it's hard to find skilled workers for this personal, artistic kind of printing - but that hasn't stopped the passion of Wayne Davis, of Artisan Press in Lane Cove, Sydney.

His Letter Press printing survives in the age of computerised printing, due to keeping abreast with technology, his expertise in the letter press industry and what he calls a personal touch - he believes any invitation for a wedding or birthday should be - and can be, with letter press printing - personal.
