Keeping the flock together

Chris has been a specialist lamb production farmer for 25 years. His property "Bodonga" in the Orange region has been owned by his family since 1902.

Chris loves farming because it is a multi-skilled occupation and always changing.

His son Nick is studying agribusiness and his dream is to one day take over the farm. He describes how he loved growing up on a farm and enjoys the country lifestyle.

Although farming and agriculture can be a challenging occupation subject to market and environmental changes, Chris would like to pass on the family tradition. He's encouraged his sons to pursue careers and skills away from the farm as well. Nick and Chris remain optimistic that there is a future in farming and one day Nick will be able to return to the lifestyle he loves and carry on the family tradition.
