What is the AMCA?

This story provides an industry overview from the CEO, David Eynon, of the Air Conditional and Mechanical Contractors Association (AMCA) of Australia.

AMCA is an organisation of air conditioning and mechanical services companies that are engaged in commercial and industrial construction work. Like all trade associations and employer organisations, the AMCA exists to represent its members, and the public they serve.

The Association acts exclusively as the air-conditioning and mechanical service industry's voice in dealing with governments at all levels, other construction and service industry groups, and the unions.

Members of AMCA design, install, and provide ongoing service of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems. Its members have years of experience in the industry, a proven record of achievement in the installation of commercial and industrial plants, and have worked on the most complex projects in Australia.

David says that the work is highly technical and embraces many modern technologies, and the money is great. Air-conditioning is a rather hidden industry, yet the job is vital - imagine our hot summer days without air-con!
