SkillsOne carried out an informal social survey to find out what general impressions people have about electricians.

The responses ranged from: "rough around the edges; uneducated; source of light bulb jokes; and creator of mood lighting."

We put these responses to the test with local electrician Daniel Rowley, to discover which of these opinions are false and which are right on the money.

And the results might just surprise you.
