Aeronautical Career Paths

Dean Mrakas and Luke Telford are two high school students with ambitions to make their career in the aviation industry. Dean, a year 11 student at Sylvania High in Sydney and Luke, a year 12 student at Menai High in southern Sydney attended the ACE 08 Aviation Careers Expo at Bankstown Airport in south-western Sydney.

Dean was interested in pursuing an aviation career in the defence force and talked to Midshipman Matthew Cramp of the Royal Australian Navy on how to enter the defence force and what aviation career paths were available. Luke wishes to pursue a career in aviation mechanical trades and talked to Neil Martin of Qantas and Peter Morrison of the South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE about mechanical trade careers and training opportunities.
