The Aviation Whizz Kid

Josh Taylor is living his life's dream to work in the aviation industry. Like many young boys he initially contemplated being a pilot. He learnt of aircraft maintenance engineering in his early teens and switched high schools to Queensland's Aviation High School, a specialist high school that incorporates aviation career skills into a conventional high school curriculum.

Josh is currently training with Aviation Australia - under a scholarship from Boeing Australia which he won - in structural mechanical engineering. Ultimately he aims to become an an aircraft maintenance engineer. While at school he did work experience with Boeing Australia, working on maintaining the RAAF's F-111 aircraft at the Amberley Air Force base in Queensland. With aviation businesses establishing themselves in South-East Queensland, Josh is excited about the future opportunities: "There's just so much to look forward to in the aviation industry."
