Budding bricklayers

The Gordon Institute of TAFE in East Geelong is a new multi-million dollar eco-friendly facility that offers courses in bricklaying, plastering, scaffolding and horticulture.

Come inside and meet a group of students currently learning the trade of bricklaying and one of their teachers, Greg Scott.

Mr Scott has been in the industry for 28 years and teaching for 17. He loves watching the students come in and spend time learning and maturing as people over the three-year course.

"It's very satisfying watching their progress. And with bricklaying it really is a stepping stone to so many other careers -- like building, surveying or inspecting," he says.
