Youth build is an initiative of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) in which young people learn and gain practical experience in the building industry while still at secondary school. Landcom is seeking to promote and assist the program in its projects. Here we meet with Suresh Manickam, he gives us an insight into the whole industry and HIA's great schemes to involve youth in these exciting careers. About HIA Youthbuild: HIA Youthbuild Foundation brings together industry leaders to drive an innovative “work at school” program based on strong partnerships between schools, industry, business and local communities. The Foundation will oversee projects that provide new opportunities for young people to enter the industry via real work programs undertaken at school.
