Building a better future

TAFE teacher and bricklayer Mick Matthesius introduces Year 10 students at Dapto High School to Bricklaying.

Together, they build a memorial to students who have died while at the school. They learn skills from digging the foundations to mixing the concrete and laying the bricks.

Mick also reveals how bricklaying changed his life, and encourages the students to take up an apprenticeship in bricklaying.
