Skills and Sustainability - Heavy Vehicles

At the WorldSkills 2008 in Sydney's Darling Harbour, we speak to Allan Drew - Heavy Vehicles Judge, who tells us of the importance of sustainability and economy especially when it comes to heavy vehicles.

Allan presents different engines and exhausts which are low on emissions and have great fuel economy and demonstrates how the process works.

We then move on to see the electrical project in store for the heavy vehicle mechanics of the competition - to wire ancillary equipment in a truck.

Allan tells how every aspect of automotives is sustainable and environmentally friendly - even when it comes to washing and cleaning spare parts and brakes, instead of using solvents, they're using sustainable enzymes.
